(Yes, that's me. And my dad back in the day. Hello 80s!)

I was tagged! Melina of Owl and Peacock posted a survey on her blog and "passed the baton" to me, too. How fun! This is a welcome post since I am so not in the mood to be working right now and I get to tell all of you lovely readers all about me. So here goes...

  1. WHAT BOOKS ARE ON YOUR FAVORITE SHELF
ANYTHING by Haruki Murakami (I especially loved Kafka On the Shore), Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, and last but not least, Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace (oh goodness, I am still desperately trying to tackle it).

  2. WHAT DVDs ARE ON YOUR FAVORITE SHELF?
We have waaaaay too many DVDs to keep track of so I don't even know what is in our inventory. However, in my mental DVD shelf, I would have to say: Lost in Translation, Bye Bye Birdie, Cinema Paradiso, Amelie, The Taste of Tea, and Tampopo.

  3. WHAT ARE YOUR TWO FAVORITE COOKBOOKS?
The Professional Chef and, although not a book, loose recipes from Food & Wine or Bon Appetit magazines.

  4. SELECT 1~3 RECIPES YOU WILL COOK FOR YOUR SPECIAL GUESTS:
These are all three very random dishes that absolutely do not go well together but are amazing on their own. That being said, I will make the following on three separate occasions: my own tonkotsu ramen, osso buco with risotto milanese, and my favorite German cheesecake.

  5. WHAT WILL WE BE DRINKING THAT'S AVAILABLE?
    Copious amounts of Italian reds!

    AND 5 RANDOM FACTS:
  • I cannot wait to build a home with Ryan out of shipping containers and move to Portland, OR. Seriously.
  • I have an obsession with stripes. Horizontal stripes. On clothing.
  • I'm not ashamed to admit that I like bad television. I'm talking really bad.
  • I used to like going shopping while traveling around. Now I hate it. I much prefer going on food-based trips where I get to sample all the local cuisines and flavors of an area. Yum!
  • I feel truly and utterly and unfairly lucky that I am the happiest now than I've EVER been in my life. Yay!

To carry the tradition, I now pass the baton to:

  4. Cute! My husband and I just bought a house in Portland we are going to gut & remodel. The lot is huge so we're going to build a studio apartment & separate office out of shipping containers! We cant wait. Portland is beautiful. I've lived there for 15 years and am proud to "settle" down here!
